A Year of Transformation, Adventure, and New Beginnings
As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey that 2024 has been. It has been a year of change, growth, and unforgettable experiences that have shaped me both personally and professionally. From major career shifts to exploring new horizons, this year has left me with countless memories to cherish.
Closing a Meaningful Chapter at Under Armour
2024 began with a pivotal career change. After almost five remarkable years with Under Armour, I concluded my journey with the organization at the end of 2023. My time there was nothing short of transformative. I had the privilege of leading a dynamic team, making impactful decisions that shaped the brand’s presence, and collaborating with exceptional individuals who taught me the true meaning of teamwork.
One of the greatest takeaways from my time at Under Armour was the relationships I built. Many of these connections have grown into genuine friendships that I treasure deeply. Saying goodbye was bittersweet, but it also marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with fresh opportunities.
A New Adventure with RIMOWA
Stepping into 2024, I joined RIMOWA, a luxury brand under the prestigious LVMH Group. The shift into the world of luxury retail has been an eye-opening experience, offering me the chance to learn and grow in an entirely new industry.
Marking my first year with the brand has been a milestone in itself. I’ve gained valuable insights into the meticulous standards of the luxury sector, understanding the importance of precision and excellence in maintaining RIMOWA’s iconic identity. The journey has been challenging yet rewarding, and I’m excited to continue contributing to this incredible brand’s legacy.
Exploring the World: A Year of Travel
Travel has always been a source of inspiration and growth for me, and 2024 offered plenty of opportunities to explore. Each trip I embarked on brought unique experiences and memories that will stay with me forever.
• Weekend Getaways: A quick trip to Johor Bahru reminded me of the simple joys of nearby escapes.
• Melbourne: Returning to Melbourne after a decade was a surreal experience. Driving through the city and rediscovering familiar places was both nostalgic and heartwarming.
• Da Nang, Vietnam: My trip to Da Nang was all about relaxation. From enjoying the serene beaches to experiencing the sheer force of a typhoon, it was an adventure like no other. It was also probably the first time ever where I decided to travel solely on a cabin sized luggage - it wasn’t pretty, but hey!! I tried!
• Solo Travel in Kuala Lumpur: What initially was supposed to be a friends getaway, took a turn mid-way. Nevertheless, I did my best to take time for myself on what turns out to be a solo trip to KL was a refreshing experience, offering a mix of self-reflection and exploration.
• Seoul, South Korea: The year ended with a magical family trip to Seoul. From witnessing the heaviest snowfall in Soul over the last century and skiing for the first time to throwing snowballs at each other, it was a winter wonderland come to life.
These travels weren’t just about exploration—they also offered opportunities for professional growth. In some instances, I managed to combine personal trips with casual market visits for RIMOWA, making the most of every journey.
Celebrating Milestones
2024 wasn’t just about work and travel; it was also a year of personal milestones and memorable moments.
• Siti Nurhaliza Concert: Watching the legendary Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza perform live at Star Vista was a dream come true. Her voice, her stage presence—it was an experience I will never forget. Thank You Syuk for brining me to experience this again. The last time I watcher her concernt at Star Vista we in 2004, 20 years ago, blocked by pillars and watching partially on a small TV screen. This year was totally unblocked and I felt super happy to sing along during the concert!
• A Meaningful Birthday: This years Birthday, despite being small celebration, it was intimate and filled with joy and laughter with all the important people in my life. I am so grateful for Chef Mel Dean from PERMATA Singapore for hosting this intimate event. Chef have been an super generous on sharing opportunities as well as very welcoming throughout the entire year. With that, I am eternally grateful.
• Sister’s Engagement: We ended the year with a joyful celebration—my sister’s engagement. I took charge of designing and setting up the backdrop for her special day, a project that reignited my passion for bespoke event setups. It was a proud moment to see my creativity come to life and add to the beauty of such a significant occasion.
What’s Ahead in 2025
As I bid farewell to 2024, I am eagerly anticipating the opportunities that 2025 holds. Here’s what I’m looking forward to:
• Expanding Content: This platform will see a steady stream of articles focused on lifestyle, food, and travel. I’m excited to share my experiences and insights with you.
• Refining Personal Branding: I plan to expand my social network, enhance my personal branding, and grow the bespoke event services I provide. I could have never done all this without all you readers.
• Launching a New Venture: I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of my art and digital illustration service. This venture will blend creativity and technology to bring unique visions to life, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
